Linz sits on the Danube between modern art museums and a baroque old town, and this route covers both in about 6 km. It starts at the bonus stop, the twin-towered basilica on the Pöstlingberg, reached by the Pöstlingbergbahn, one of the steepest adhesion railways in the world. Down at the river, the Ars Electronica Center glows across from the long glass Lentos museum, and at night both façades light up.

The wide Hauptplatz with its Trinity Column, the Old Cathedral, where Anton Bruckner was organist, and Linz Castle above the river lead to Martin's Church, one of the oldest churches in Austria. The route ends at the New Cathedral, the largest church in Austria by capacity, with its tall neo-Gothic spire. The Danube bank between the two museums is a popular running path.
