Innsbruck sits in the Inn valley with the Nordkette mountains straight above it, and this route of about 7.5 km links the old town to the ski jump and a Renaissance castle south of the river. It starts in the Hofgarten, with the mountains rising over the park, and passes the cathedral with its two bell towers before reaching the Golden Roof, a balcony covered in gilded copper tiles. The Court Church holds the empty tomb of Emperor Maximilian I.

Maria-Theresien-Straße runs from Saint Anne's Column to the Triumphal Arch, and the route then climbs south to the Bergisel Ski Jump, designed by Zaha Hadid, with a view over the whole valley. The bonus stop is Ambras Castle on its hill to the east. Trams and buses serve Bergisel and Ambras, and the Nordkettenbahnen cable cars from the edge of the old town reach the mountains in about twenty minutes.
