Granada's route is short, about 4.5 km, but it climbs: it runs from the cave houses of Sacromonte over the Alhambra hill and through the Albaicín, the old Moorish quarter, down to the cathedral. It starts at the whitewashed caves of Sacromonte and reaches the Generalife gardens and the Gate of Justice in the Alhambra walls; entry to the palaces needs a timed ticket, often sold out weeks ahead.
Back down by the Darro river, the Carrera del Darro passes El Bañuelo, the old Arab baths, and the climb up the Albaicín ends at the Mirador de San Nicolás, the famous view of the Alhambra at sunset. Plaza Larga, the Puerta de Elvira and the bonus stop, the teahouse lane of Calderería Nueva, lead down to Plaza Nueva, the cathedral and Plaza Bib-Rambla. Small buses C31 and C32 climb the Albaicín and Sacromonte.
