Nice's route runs from the old port over Castle Hill and through the Old Town to the Promenade des Anglais, about 7 km. It starts at Port Lympia with its pastel façades and fishing boats, and climbs Castle Hill for the view over the Bay of Angels; there is a free lift from the seafront end if you prefer. Below, Cours Saleya has its flower and food market every morning except Monday, when it turns into an antiques market.

In the Old Town are the cathedral on Place Rossetti and the baroque Palais Lascaris, and the route crosses Place Garibaldi and the chessboard Place Masséna to the Jardin Albert I. The neo-Gothic Notre-Dame Basilica and the bonus stop, the Russian Orthodox Cathedral with its onion domes, lie in the newer town, and the walk ends at the pink dome of the Hotel Negresco on the Promenade.
