Brașov is a Transylvanian Saxon town under Mount Tâmpa, and this route covers its walled old town in about 2 km, an easy hour. It starts at the bonus stop, the lower station of the Tâmpa cable car, which goes up to the big BRAȘOV sign on the mountain. Rope Street, one of the narrowest streets in Europe, and the Black Church, the largest Gothic church in the region, named for the soot of a fire in 1689, lead to Council Square and its old town hall.

The route then follows the line of the old walls: the White Tower and the Black Tower on the hillside above, Catherine's Gate, the only medieval city gate that survives, and the Weavers' Bastion, the best preserved of the town's bastions. The path along the walls below Tâmpa is shady and quiet. Bran Castle and the mountain resort of Poiana Brașov are both a short bus ride away.
