Toulouse is called the pink city for its brick, and this route covers its centre in about 4.5 km. It starts at the Basilica of Saint-Sernin, the largest Romanesque church in Europe, with its octagonal brick tower, and reaches the long pink façade of the Capitole on the main square. The Jacobins Convent, with its palm-tree vault inside, the Daurade basilica on the quay and the Renaissance courtyard of the Hôtel d'Assézat follow.

The Pont Neuf, despite its name the oldest bridge in the city, crosses the Garonne to the bonus stop, the Prairie des Filtres, a riverside meadow where the city gathers on summer evenings with the old hospital dome across the water. Back on the east bank, the route passes the formal Jardin Royal and ends at the cathedral, whose two halves never quite line up. The whole walk is flat; the metro and free city-centre shuttle cover any gap.
